MT PARK DRAGWAY PRO-AM MOVED TO AUGUST 19-21
The Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour event scheduled at Mountain Park Dragway will move to the August 19-21 weekend in 2011. “We had a hard time moving a historically successful event this deep in the racing season but it’s our goal not to make our racers chose between racing two facilities in a weekend,” Mountain Park’s Shane Kennon said. “The support that IHRA class racers have given to the July 4th weekend has built a staple in Kentucky Drag racing over the years. We hope that we can prove the service and charm that racers receive is the staff, facility and history, not the date.
“Our IHRA class racers chose to race with us because of our product, value and passion, and making them chose our race over another scheduled the same weekend is not our priority. Giving racers the opportunity to choose their own destiny is. ” Division Director Jon O’Neal said, Mountain Park Dragway has shown an amazing amount of support for the Summit Pro-Am tour throughout it’s rich history, and I hope that racers realize this move is for them.”
