Bobby Gene Amburgey
Bobby Gene Amburgey, husband of Irene Wingate Amburgey for 62 years, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011. He was an 81 year old native of Menifee County, son of the late Jessie James and Mary Lawson Amburgey, an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, retired automobile dealer and a member of the Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Bobby Thomas (Pam) Amburgey of Concord, North Carolina, and Gary Gene (Libby) Amburgey of Mt. Sterling, 4 grandchildren, Bobby Thomas Amburgey Jr., Jessica Amburgey, Kristina (Joey) Rhodes, and Michael Amburgey, a great-grandchild, Connor Daniel Rhodes, and 3 brothers, Jerry, David and Jim Amburgey, all of Mt. Sterling. His funeral will be 1:00 Thursday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 6-9:00 Wednesday with a Masonic service at 7:00.
