Havent made my mind up if this is a good or bad thing.
Track options for Summit Super Series for 2008 and beyond
IHRA had given member tracks two additinal options as to how a racer can be entered into the program:
Option A
Any track that requires full membership of all its point’s racers would be automatically placing all of them in the SSS at no extra charge. Each racer pays the normal $60 ET membership and these memberships run on a rolling year just as they do now. The tracks that choose option A can say that their racers are saving $10 over last year’s price. The tracks will have a special entry form your racers will fill out. The track will verify membership on site and return all forms to IHRA. We will be able to provide you with a list of your racers and their individual membership expiration dates for you if you wish.
There are insurance benefits included in becoming an IHRA member
Crown a SSS champion in any manner you see fit. Whatever works best for you! The track champ IS the SSS champ at your track!
Option B
Track would add $30 to existing points fee to all track points members. Racer is not required to become an IHRA member dueing the season, only if he/she wishes to park in the TeaM Finals. IHRA will offer a special IHRA membership offer for $40 that each track can offer from March 1st to June 1st. Special membership forms will be given to each track and the racer who wished to take advantage of the special membership offer will send into IHRA direct. These memberships expire December 31st of the current year, which will coincide with their SSS $30 entry fee.
Team Finals
For those racers who chose not to take advantage of the special membership offer (for tracks choosing Option and make the Team Finals, we will charge them $40 at the Team Finals and their membership will expire Dec 31st of that year.
Crown a SSS champion in any manner you see fit. Whatever works best for you! The track champ IS the SSS champ at your track!
Option C
These tracks would continue to run the program just as they did this year. Joining would be optional for their points members. They would have to continue to join both IHRA and the home track points, buy an X number, track would have to report the files weekly, we would keep a PR rating, etc. Your top PR score would run at the Summit Team Finals in your division, etc. Nothing would change from 2007 at these particular tracks that selected this option.
