I believe everyone knows who I am. I believe that every one that makes it to the semi should be checked for a box. A 00 light don't mean a thing but low teen and 00 good or red don't look good all day and night. A real foot brake racer and/or bottom bulb racer will miss the tree. I run a trans brake and thats what I enjoy plus voted for but we should never leave the door open for anyone to have a bad thought of forgetting to take a box out. I will open my hood/door to be checked every round if needed and I hope all others feel the same. I have had no less than 20 racers question cheating or why we trans brake racers don't get checked so hopefully this will open the doors for whoever or whatever needs to happen. Remember people will always ? or talk! Thanks Billy/Rabbit.

Anybody is welcome to check me but all you really have to do is watch me make 3 runs on any given night .001 , .068 red and I'll usually round it off with something like a .253 ! ;D

I agree... They used to randomly check, then check at 5 or 3 cars.. I loved it when they checked cause I new I didnt have anything to worry about and wanted to know that Ididnt have to worry about anyone else.. I know for a FACT that there have been people caught, and a couple of people suspected of using them.. (one person hasnt raced since they were suspected a couple years ago).... If you never check, you will never keep anyone from cheating..

Tech is a topic that really irks me. And by that, I mean it should happen more. In 6 years of racing Dad's Nova, that car has only been REALLY teched twice. And both times were this year. I've always said that if anyone wants to check my car, please do. Any time you want. If it so pleases you, we can trace every stitch of wire. If there is something on the car that isn't kosher, I need to know so that I can fix it.
Now when it comes to suspicion of other racers, I tend to believe that people are mostly honest and certain problems aren't as prevalent as some would have you believe. However, if you do suspect something, there are procedures in place by which this can be resolved. I myself was reported to track officials earlier this year for my car stuttering down-track (I never heard it... maybe I'm just a bad driver?). Due process was given and my car was inspected by an official NHRA tech inspector - not just a local tech guy. Of course, my car was 100% legal. But, if that person did truly hear stuttering, it was their duty to alert someone. I don't know who it was and I don't need to know. If a person can't feel safe reporting a valid suspicion, the system is broken.
As to the comment at the top about a real bottom bulb racer missing the tree, I beg to differ. I've seen more than one racer go .00 to low .01x all night long. My experience at Bunker Hill the week before last proves that there are in fact a number of good no-box racers capable of that feat - note that all were thoroughly inspected at tech. Re-inspection was also performed at either 6 or 12 cars in the main event (I can't remember exactly which round it was).

I agree with everything said (Ben) , I also think that any decent racer that is having an "ON" night can cut double O's and teens all night. I think what draws suspicion are racers that do it every night. I'm fairly new to the sport so I really dont know if there are some people that are really that good or not. I do notice that a fair number of box racers (rails) for some reason are stareing down between their legs at 130 mph .

I have had alot of friends call me today and ask who was cheating. That's not why I wrote the mail this morning.I was hoping everyone would agree on us being checked like we used to be. If the door is left open someone will always walk through. Everyone is there to have fun be safe and try to win. I don't care were I go racing I hear our (mod) class is one of the toughest. I just want to keep it that way. Billy!

Anyone can check my car anytime they want. I don't even use the transbrake, it's hooked to a toggle switch so I have reverse

I can't really weigh in on this particular discussion much, but I have this to say. I've never used a delay box, trans brake, throttle stop or even a line lock in my 22 years of drag racing. My Dad tried a delay box one year when it was first allowed in IHRA foot brake, but gave up mid-season on it. I think if a track or promoter set out rules that make it specific that your not to use a certain devise, they should check each car out before first round of eliminations, and semi and final rounds. That may sound like a lot to ask,but if the race rules state certain criteria, they need to be followed to the tee,or ban that person, period.
