The Quick Rod Div 3 Champ called me the world biggest idiot because i see it from the business side and i do like racing for coin, heck i like to see 5k every weekend but i do have a little since about it from BOTH sides. That was real classy from a champ...LMAO....thought it was Philbilly at first. Just wih everyone would wake up and see the local racing different than a big money race and enjoy it and have fun instead of complaining all the time about every little thing.

I know that Travis, but alot racers sit at home and causes car count to decline and causes tracks to lose money, if racers show up and race MP will be fine all but those hot summer days and you cant expect MP to take a beaten, i know i dont. I dont think it should drop under $1000 but whats $200 really though.

I know you gonna say I'm lying and all that good stuff but butcher you said that you only won 500 at the lake. You won 500 cause you and Scotty neat split. They guarantee 800 every weekend. That's the end of my arguments. I'll be at clay city some. I hope they make big money and pay big money. I also hope everyone has good luck this year.

Chris, Lake Cumberland did not pay you $500 to win top. In the last 3 years, he has NEVER cut the purse below $800. That's guaranteed. The reason you got $500 is because you and I split it, $500/$400. I don't have a burning opinion on the matter, but don't push Lake Cumberland under the bus to make a point.

Maybe it was $800, and i do recall we split it, i know i got $500. No one was putting LCD under no bus, go re-read, mink said that payout was better than BRP and BRP has never when i ran it paid under $1000, all my point was, mink said it was better, was just making a point that it wasnt. Heck with the car count at Cumberland that day i was very happy with what i got, you didnt hear me complaining.
By the way sneat you happen to have Mike`s phone number at Cumberland i need to talk to him. pm me if you do.

Dont know how you get that unless you drive along ways. $55 entry $25 bback $30 alky (10 gallon at $3 gallon)...probably wont be this much. $25 truck gas, only 30 miles for me. $135 total for me to run at MP and thats if i have to BBack. Maybe some need to step there rigs down some....just saying.

Ok. Well when you split its a little different. They pay a 1000 with 16 cars. I give up butcher. We all know you know everything. I'm just gonna race at clay city, London, lake Cumberland and Ohio valley. Support the tracks and hope they can help me pay my expenses with their payouts.

Lewis it`s all good, i dont know everything if i did i would be rich. Just like having fun allthough some get upset but after i have ran a track i see thing little different on this stuff and just try to make/help racers understand that tracks cant lose money. Heck i`m with you on payouts but i know they cant pay it when they dont take it in at the gate either, and i really like MP payout structure casue if racers support it then it pays good, if not they dont lose a bunch coin. As long as we are supporting local races at our tracks then its all good and i know you guys do you there every weekend racing, same as i will be when i`m home and not racing somewere else.

I know I am a little late to the argument, but as I wrote on Lewis's facebook page, I want to race for as much money as possible. However, at the same point I understand that a track can not over pay if there are not cars there. Would I like Clay City to guarantee more than $800? Yup. But I understand that they cant pay more on a weekly basis if there are no cars there.
The way I look at it is that at least they are guaranteeing $800 no matter how many cars show up. I ran at Kanawha Valley most of last season, as I finished runner-up in TOP points do to some other issues but that is for another discussion, however I remember at one point in the season I made it to the finals, and Jeff Higgins and I decided that we were just going to split dead even. Prior to the finals the announced purse was $175 to win and $50 to runner-up!!!! There were 20 or so cars there that day. So based on that, the current payout structure at Clay City looks decent to me. That is where I am coming from.

What could be helpful on the payout structure sheet would be if the track posted the average car counts per class for 2011. This added bit of info could possibly clear up some of the questions about what payouts have been historically and shed light on potenital weekly payouts to racers that are not Mountain Park regulars.
The whole point is trying to attract racers and build car counts. Although most of us here know better since we race Mountain Park regularly, when the track is posting a "0-10 cars" for Mod and Super ET and "0-30 cars" for Top, non-regular Mountain Park racers are going to be wondering how often was that few of cars in the class and that could be the deciding factor on whether they come race or not.

Good point brun, my understanding from a racer who was there about every weekend was they probably averaged 40-45 in top last year. Dont know if that`s correct or not. Not sure on other classes but guessing i`d say 15-20 Mod last year?

bruno that is a good thought. I like the idea of knowing what the average car count was last season. Could make a big difference.

I could never understand why a buy back is not counted as another entry....it's all about the money that comes in from the car count as to what the purse is...so someone explain that to me.....
