For those of us that race for the fun and money, it honestly effects us. It would be like me showing up to work tomorrow and the company saying, "I'm sorry Jeremy, but I'm cutting your pay from 65k to 26k." Thats the same percentage from $2k to $800. I know that mountain park will not pay $800 that often, if any, but I felt that comparison was needed. On the other hand, you might take the pay cut and be glad to have a job, but you wouldn't be happy about it.
What would you do if your pay at your job was cut in half? I think it's a valid point.

i dont think thats no comparison to our jobs. we get a paycheck no matter what we do . racing theres no gauarantee you will win 1 dollar. totally different to me. racing is a hobby that we all love to gol make our cars run as fast as possible and enjoy it with friends and family.

Personally, when I was in high school/college, I relied on race winnings to race from week to week and to go to big races. I used race winnings as a paycheck, so it is the same for me. In fact, I still use race winnings to improve my race car and go to big races, so it's still like a paycheck to me. If you average my race winnings over the weekends I competed in, I had a "paycheck" of over $550 every weekend I was on the track. Don't know how you couldnt consider it like a job. I have fun racing and hanging out with my friends, but when I am on the track, it's all business.

If my pay gets cut, I'll find a new job! If they do away with (Top) and (MOD AGAIN) I'll find another track (AGAIN). Cant beat a dead horse see what happens I promise we will all be fine! Billy!

Let's say a racer won $20k in 2012 and competed in 35 events. That racer would have averaged $571 per weekend in 2012. Not that hard to believe. It would just take 10 finals of local and bigger races.
